Through fundraising projects, we provided funding for the following:

The construction of ten temporary housing units for families in Bandipur

The Village of Bandipur is home to 64 families. All 64 homes were destroyed during the earthquake and aftershocks in April, 2015. Families had no choice but to live in tents. The only building left standing was the Community Center. The Community Center would become the kitchen for 64 families.

Distributed 110 Lifestraw water filters to school students in Bandipur

Allows one to drink directly from streams and lakes or from a bottle
Uses advanced hollow fiber membrane technology to filter up to 264 gallons or 1,000 liters of water to 0.2 microns
Removes 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella
Removes 99.9% waterborne protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium
Reduces turbidity (muddiness)
No aftertaste: LifeStraw® doesn’t use iodine or iodinated resin chemicals and is BPA-free
Meets US EPA drinking water standards
Ultralight: weighs only 2 ounces or 57 grams
Portable: only 9” (22.5 cm) long and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter

Distributed school supplies for one school of 90 children in Sindhupalchok

Rent for one year for a family in Kathmandu

One woman with two children was left homeless after the April earthquake. With help, we secured a small apartment and paid the landlord the rent for one year.

Built a permanent home for a family with Habitat for Humanity

Participated in a Global Village project with Habitat for Humanity during which time we built a home for a family outside Pokhara.
